ON SATURDAY 21 AND SUNDAY 22 OCTOBER the Syntagma Square was transformed into a basketball court for the 4th Hope 3on3 Streetball. From 10:00 in the morning until 16:00 the athletes of the Federation of Greek Basketball Clubs with Wheelchair (OSEKA) showed the crowd that gathered on both days how the impressive sport is played.

The two-day event full of surprises was organized by OSEKA in cooperation with the Region of Attica and the OPANDA of the municipality of Athens. Six teams, 18 wheelchair basketball players gave not only their best, but also an amazing spectacle, which was crowned with an incredible final that was decided in overtime, keeping everyone in suspense until the last second.
From the political leadership, the 4th Hope 3on3 Streetball was attended by MEP Stelios Kymouropoulos, the GSA George Mavrotas, who was a representative of the Government, the Deputy Regional Governor of the Central Sector of Athens George Vlachos, the Mayor of Athens Kostas Bakoyannis, who came with his family to Syntagma with his wife Sia Kosioni and their son and the Coordinator of the General Manager of OAKA, Konstantinos Halioris, who also represented the Deputy Minister of Sports, Yannis Vroutsis. Lefteris Avgenakis sent a warm greeting, stressing that the «honour» of being invited to our event was his.

Of course, big names of Greek basketball were not missing: Panagiotis Giannakis Giannakis was there on the first day, along with his 1987 National Team teammate, Nikos Linardos, who also brought children from the «Niki Drosia» Academy, while the captain of Maroussi, Pavlos Xidas and his teammate Giannis Papageorgopoulos, gave air... Basket League. The next day, Panagiotis Fassoulas, Sofoklis Schortsianitis and Giannis Giannoulis took the baton, along with Panos and Aristotle Zaraidoni (players in Egaleo and Megarida, respectively).
As always, the weekend was also of artistic interest, with the impressive Veronika Sgardeli and dance teacher Anna Valaris, Dudek and Hobo illusionerZ rightfully receiving the warm applause of the audience that attended the weekend at Syntagma.
So what can we expect after such a successful event from CSKA? But of course the next one!
