The National Weather Service (EMY) issued an emergency weather bulletin, warning of polar cold across the country, snow and frost from tomorrow, Thursday 5 January.
To avoid rupture of the solar pipes due to frost, it is recommended to check the level and density of the antifreeze. Covering the collectors in case of increased snowfall is also recommended as an additional precautionary measure.
The solar water heater with minimal precautions and the corresponding low cost maintenance will provide free hot water for many many years.
